Saudi
Arabia-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has embarked on
a comprehensive program to feed, educate and rehabilitate
the Muslim victims of the sea surge in the coastal parts of
Sri Lanka.
It has allocated $ 500 million for relief activities of the
survivors in the tsunami hit countries. The SR 1.4 million
project in Sri Lanka will be implemented through the Islamic
Centre in Muslim settlements affected by the deluge and it
will be implemented in three phases.
A special team headed by Kuala Lumpur-based IDB's Business
Analyst Azlan Bin Haji Uzir flagged off its relief
operations from the Islamic Centre in Colombo on Sunday.
