More Tsunami aid from Saudi Arabia

 
In a series of International efforts to assist affected people in countries hit by tidal waves after an earthquake shook the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has assigned US$ 30 million until now, to assist those countries and accordingly four aircraft have arrived carrying 300 tons of various relief supplies to Sri Lanka and two aircraft with 150 tons to the Maldives in addition to a large quantity of relief items delivered to other affected countries.

In the charity campaign which the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia arranged during the last several days to assist those affected, the Saudi people donated more than US$ 82 million as well as donations in kind.

Therefore, the total of Saudi Arabian assistance to the affected countries to date reaches more than US$ 112 million (Rs. 11,200 million) except Saudi individuals' assistance which reach to millions of US$ states a Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia press release.
