'Amadahara makes Vesak celebrations more meaningful'

COLOMBO: Lake House Amadhara Kalapaya was opened yesterday at a
ceremony held at the ANCL premises by Mass Media and Information
Ministry Secretary A. Dissanayake Deputising Mass Media and
Information Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, he conveyed the best
wishes of the Minister to the organisers of the event.
In his address the Secretary paid tribute to Lake House for
taking initiative to introduce this new concept to make the Vesak
celebration more meaningful.
ANCL Acting Chairman and Director Editorial Sarath Kongahage said
Dinamina newspaper which has contributed to make the event a success
along with the Budusarana.
He said the Lake House was happy being able to contribute in
someway to bring the message of the Buddha closer to the people and
said that the support extended by Orange company, Lak Handa and ITN
were commendable.
He said that Lake House was involved in several activities such
as Mihintala Aloka Pooja and Vesak lantern competition for many
years now. All these are possible because of the commitment and
dedication of the ANCL workers," he added.
Director Orange Company A.P.Gunatileke said his institution
considered the opportunity to contribute to the event was something
very rare and they take modest pride for it.
ANCL BAKTHI GEE: Commemorating the 2551 Buddha Jayanthiya, the
Buddhist Association of Lake House presented a Bakthi Gee at the
ANCL premises yesterday. The ANCL which comes within the Amadhara
Vesak Kalapaya was aptly decorated to suit the occasion. The members
of the Buddhist Association presented the bakthi gee. - Picture by
